The FAQ

Do people acutally do boudoir sessions?

Yes!!!
It has become very popular in the last decade!!!! Some women do it as a gift to their significant other, while some women do it as a gift to themselves. We LOVE empowering women!!! The housewife, the newly divorced woman, the soon to be married woman. EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! Let me help you see that!!!! Every woman at some point struggles with self-esteem or body image concerns and experiencing a boudoir session is the perfect boost of confidence you deserve!

Will my photos be on the internet?

Only if you say it is ok!!! I will always ask your permission, via model release form, before sharing your pictures. You will be able to choose the images I can share. Also, i will never "tag" you in an image shared on my site, unless you want me to.

I am not sure my body is right for boudoir.

Your size, scars, body or stretch marks, etc. do not define your beauty or your sexy!!! Being different is what makes YOU who YOU are!!! It is what makes YOU beautiful! Let me help you see your beauty.

Can you fix blemishes, scars etc.?

The first thing I edit for is light, exposure and color balance. Fixing acne, acne scarring and cellulite is part of the editing process. The goal is to give you photos that make you feel beautiful in your own body, not edit them so you don't look like yourself. Empowering Grace is about SELF LOVE! If you are self-conscious about a certain area, let me know what I can work around that area and together we can find something that works for you! Sometimes adding a scarf, robe or even blanket to the session can make you feel more comfortable and still just as beautiful! We will discuss what you feel is your favorite feature, or your significant others favorite feature and emphasize on those areas.

Can I bring a friend to my session?

If you must bring someone for moral support, that is fine, but please let me know ahead of time. Please ensure you will be completely comfortable with them being there, as this is an intimate session and we need to be completely comfortable with each other to create a relaxed environment.

I will always have an assistant present, who is body positive and ensures everyone is comfortable during the session. However, everything is more fun with a friend. If you would like to book a session with a close friend, I offer discounted rates to schedule friends a the same time. Please inquire.

Do I have to wear lingerie?

• No. There are plenty of other things to make you feel just as sexy as people who love to wear lingerie.
• What about wearing some of your significant others favorite clothing items? Are they into sports? You can use a jersey. A favorite jacket/hoodie?
• Oversized sweater, cute undies, and awesome shoes!
• You can even wear your role-playing outfits/costumes.

Do I need to buy new outfits?

Not if you don't want to,

• Sometimes things you already have can make you feel the sexiest: your significant others button down shirt, a scarf, sexy shoes, the list goes on and on.
• Also, I am always adding to the client closet.

I WANT to buy some new outfits/lingerie, where should I start looking?

• There are so many places that you can shop for sexy clothing/lingerie, here are a few to get your started.
• Victoria’s Secret
• Adore Me
• Torrid
• Forever21
• Aerie
• For Love & Lemons,
• Lane Bryant
• Nordstrom Rack
• Shein
• Amazon
• Yandi
• If shopping online, check ETA of delivery to be sure your items will arrive in time for your session.

What do I wear for my photo shoot?

• Start by wearing loose fitting clothing (prior to appointment) to prevent any lines, marks, or indents. Button down shirts make it easier to preserve your hair and make-up.
• Avoid bold prints. Instead think textures: lace, denim, velvet, fishnet or even fur.
• Pick out as many outfits as possible, while you will only do a few outfit changes during your session you will have a wide variety to choose from, and I might even be able to help you with a combination that you never even thought of. Also, as the session goes on and you start feeling more comfortable, you might wish you had chosen a different outfit.

Tips:

• Do not wear anything too tight. This will cause clothes to dig into your skin and cause skin to bulge in areas you don't want it to.

• Be sure to get a mani/pedi a few days before your session. Or do it yourself. Your hands and feet will be in your pictures, you want them looking their best also.

- Pick a polish color that will match all your outfits.

*** Make sure the bottoms of your feet are clean before your session!

**** Also make sure the bottoms of your shoes are clean before your session!

• Waxing: Have you ever waxed before?

- Yes: make sure you wax 3-5 days before your session.

- No: Plan your first wax 5 weeks before your session. Then if you love your results, schedule your next wax appointment 5 days before your scheduled session.

• Do I have to wax?

- Nope, you can continue with your normal grooming routine. We will not be zooming in on your lady bits, if you know what I mean. If you plan on shaving, do so the morning before your session.

• Tanning: Skip the tan. You are beautiful! And honestly it tends to photograph quite orange.

• Make sure to cut out ALL the tags from your clothing.

• Make sure to stay well hydrated the day of, and day before your session.

• Make sure to get plenty of sleep the night before.

• Keep your outfits wrinkle free. Hang them up on their own separate hangers.

• Avoid loose fitting lingerie. They hide your curves.

• High heel shoes do a wonderful job of lengthening your legs.

• Thigh high stockings also lengthen your legs. Be sure to avoid the ones with the silicone strip at the top. All stockings should be paired with closed toe shoes.
